Features of Knivesandtools Traditional kitchen knives

The Knivesandtools Traditional series brings authentic Solinger craftsmanship to the kitchen. Each knife is made entirely by hand. Small imperfections may therefore occur and actually show the level of craftsmanship. Thanks to the use of natural materials such as wood, each handle has its own unique grain and appearance.

The range includes peeling knives, serrated utility knives and Buckels breakfast knives. Each type has its own function: from peeling potatoes and fruit to cutting sandwiches, tomatoes or cheese. Buckels breakfast knives have a long history in Germany and are known as the classic table knives for breakfast and lunch.

Knivesandtools Traditional steels

Within the series you will find knives made of stainless steel and carbon steel. Stainless steel is easy to maintain and resistant to rust, ideal for daily use. Carbon steel, on the other hand, can patina and requires a little more care: clean and dry immediately after use. The advantage is that carbon steel is harder and can therefore be sharpened thinner and thus sharper.

Knivesandtools Traditional handles

The handles are made of wood, a warm and natural material that is comfortable to hold. As wood is a natural product, each knife has a unique pattern and colour.

Knivesandtools Traditional maintenance

To enjoy these paring knives for as long as possible, it is important to maintain them properly. They should absolutely not go in the dishwasher! High temperatures and aggressive cleaning agents corrode both the steel and the wooden handle. Washing by hand, drying thoroughly immediately and oiling occasionally is more than enough to keep these blades in top condition.
