Pocket Knives & Multitools
Sod Buster pocket knives: large, simple and reliable
The Sod Buster is a simple and large pocket knife, originally designed to be used by farmers. Compared to other Traditionals the large handle immediately stands out. This knife was designed keeping ergonomics in mind, and not appearance. This design first appeared in the 18th century after which it was seen in many different shapes and sizes.
A Sod Buster blade has a drop point shape and when opened the blade is kept in place by a slipjoint. The construction is very simple, often without bolsters, and, therefore, relatively cheap. Is a large Sod Buster a little too big? If it is the Sod Buster Jr. is a beautiful, smaller alternative.
