Features of Morakniv Kansbol
Morakniv Kansbol: blade
The Mora Kansbol is an all-round outdoor knife that will appeal to many different users. The grind on the blade is striking. The blade is approximately 2.4 mm thick near the handle. Halfway through, however, the blade becomes thinner until the end, with a thickness of 1.0 mm at the tip. As a result, the Kansbol is a little lighter, but because of the thicker part at the end of the blade still incredibly strong.
The blade is made from Sandvik 12C27 steel. A stainless steel that retains its sharpness well. The scandi edge is razor-sharp and easy to maintain. A scandi grind is perfect for woodworking. Thanks to the thinner tip, the Kansbol excels at both detailed jobs and the more demanding tasks. In addition to wood work and such, we believe you can also use the thin tip to carry out kitchen tasks in the camp. The spine on the blade is very sharp. This could appear to be a disadvantage, until you try to use a firesteel with it. The sparks will fly! You notice that this was clearly thought through.
Morakniv Kansbol: handle
The handle is made from polymer, with a TPE rubber finish around the core. Very sustainable, and provides plenty of grip. When you hold the Kansbol it will immediately give you a feeling of familiarity. Its tapered design makes the handle perfect for use with gloves. Perfect for those looking to go bushcrafting in colder climates.
Morakniv Kansbol: sheath options
The Morakniv Kansbol comes in a plastic sheath. Different mounting options are also included. Use the belt loop to hang it from your belt or use the MOLLE compatible multi-mount to attach it to other MOLLE compatible surfaces. Think of backpacks, tactical vests or jackets. The Kansbol is also available with a simple sheath, in case you don't need all the additional options.
Morakniv Kansbol: roots
The Morakniv Kansbol traces its roots back to the old Mora 2000 models. These also had a compound grind with a pointy tip. This pointy part is perfect for filleting fish and other tasks around the campsite. The firmer heel of the blade ensures you can still create kindling. Is the Kansbol the most heavy-duty knife from Morakniv? No, but it's versatile.
