A large number of knives in Morakniv's range feature carbon-steel blades. This steel type does take a bit more maintenance than stainless steel. Carbon steel is, after all, not stainless and needs to be stored while clean and dry.

The handles for the Morakniv Basic collection have been the same for years. Made from plastic and lightly textured for optimal grip. The handle has bulges at the front and back, so the knife won't easily slip from your hands.

Many of the knives in the Morakniv Basic line come with a handy, modular sheath. This allows you to attach the sheath to whatever gear you like. Conveniently, you can also attach the sheath to your belt. Clever!

The plastic sheath is nice and solid and properly secures the knife. A clearly noticeable click lets you know that the knife is in place. An opening at the base of the holster allows for drainage of water if needed.
