Due to a couple of overstrikes whilst chopping small /medium logs, the handle just underneath the axe head took significant damage. I wish I'd paid more and bought the fiskars one instead.

Very good value for money - it feels like a more expensive axe The cutting edge was pretty poor - barely worked in fact But after a bit of love to hand finish the edge it now works really really well Excellent splitting axe for those on a budget that have the skills/tools to sharpen it

This is a very competent small (but not that small!) splitting hatchet. The heartwood hickory shaft is very pleasing on the eye. The axe comes very sharp from the factory. Swedish axe steel is extremely high quality and will hold an edge very well. I was disappointed that an axe of this quality and sharpness does not come with a proper leather edge guard as this, for me, is mandatory when storing or carrying the axe safely. Splitting wise it is very effective and can be used either one or two handed. Good axe. Can recommend.
