This does work but it feels harder than a lightly fire or Casstrom fire steel. You have to run your knife spine very hard over it to get sparks but the sparks you do get are very big and hot. I find it harder than the others to get a fire with because the extra force needed means I can’t direct the sparks accurately and tend to knock over my kindling. If you use ray mears’ / Paul kirtley’s method of dropping sparks by using the back of the bevel you’ll not like this. If you like to go mad and shower sparks everywhere then you probably will like it.

Doesn’t seem to function like other firesteels, seems super unreactive with a lot of steels and finishes. No sparks. Definitely avoid, just buy something else.

Great product, works really well. Great quality. I'm really happy with it.
