I stayed with a friend who had one of these knives and came home and ordered it straight away. Superb - peeling vegetables is no longer a chore

Very thin blade which makes it easy to cut fruit and most vegetables. Blade too light to use on firm vegetables e.g. turnips. Sharpens easily. Disclours quickly but this enhances appearance and does not affect cutting edge. Wood handle very crude and uncomfortable with sharp edges. Could easily have been sanded by factory to make smooth.

We inherited a Robert Herder knife so we knew that we were buying an excellent blade. There is a large selection so it was easy to find the perfect size. The blade is incredibly sharp: no sawing required, it simply slices through the food be it meat, veg or cheese. The handle could be better. It is unfinished wood and does not have a good 'feel' about it, especially when it is wet. If it was varnished or coated, this knife would receive five stars in all categories.
