The **MKM Makro 2 Sheepfoot Olive Wood** is a compact fixed EDC knife, designed by Jesper Voxnaes. He designed this knife after the success of its baby brother, the MKM Mikro. With a blade length of 7.5 cm, the Makro is still quite subtle in terms of size, but considerably larger than its predecessor. As such the knife is perfect for a variety of tasks without getting in the way of its EDC potential or friendly look and feel. You can, for instance, easily keep it close and it will excel during a hike or bushcraft adventure.

## MKM Makro 2 blade

The blade is made from Böhler M390 steel. This is a type of steel that retains its sharpness well and is incredibly wear-and-tear-resistant. It is also very stainless. It is one of the most popular choices of steel at the moment. 

## MKM Makro 2 handle made from olive wood

This version has been enhanced with an olive wood handle. It's a nice type of wood with lighter and darker lines. Keep in mind that olive wood is a natural product. No two pieces of olive wood are the same! As a result the product you receive might not look the same as the one in the product photographs.

The MKM Makro comes with a leather sheath. It is enhanced with a belt loop with a magnetic closure. It ensures that the knife stays in place inside the sheath. But it also enables you to easily carry the sheath on your belt or pocket. For the latter the entire sheath disappears in your pocket. You slide the magnetic closure over the edge of your pocket and it will secure itself as such.

## What are the origins of MKM Knives?

MKM is a cooperation between Viper, LionSteel, Fox and Mercury. Four masters working in the Italian knife industry. It is no coincidence that they all come from the city of Maniago in northern Italy. It is the knife capital of the south of Europe. MKM stands for Maniago Knife Makers.

Das Makro hatte ich schon länger auf dem Schirm, da ich ein Fan von Jesper Voxnaes' Designs bin. Für mich ist es ein perfektes EDC Messer. 
Zunächst kleiner als erwartet, liegt es aber sehr gut in der Hand. Die Verarbeitung ist top und die Klinge sehr scharf, aber auch schnitthaltig.
Die symmetrische Lederscheide lässt sich sowohl für Links- als auch Rechtshänder verwenden 
Fazit: ein edles, alltagstaugliches Messer, das zu schade für die Vitrine ist...
