The DMT Dia-Flat Lapping Plate is great if you want to lap your (Japanese) sharpening stones. The DiaFlat is hand-certified flat, within a tolerance of, 0.0005" (0.0127 mm). To guarantee this narrow tolerance over a longer period of time this lapping stone is made from solid and heavy steel. As such it weighs a whopping 1775 grams.

Outstanding Value for Money - I have used this lapping plate for the speedy removal of metal in refurbishing hand planes and vintage chisels. Each plate is individually checked for flatnesses and a personally signed certificate is included to verify its tolerance. Its good to have a product you can trust to maintain other tools that you need to be perfectly flat. Buy one! you won't regret it!
