This **Wüsthof Classic honing steel 4472, 26 cm** is the perfect tool for quickly sharpening your kitchen knives before use. Before using your knife, drag it along the honing steel a few times and flatten out the burrs that appeared during previous use. Please note: a honing steel doesn't sharpen your knife, as it doesn't remove any material. Honing steels are used for minor daily maintenance of your knives.


Sharp knives are indispensable for people who love to cook. Sharpening knives on a regular basis is essential to make sure they continue to function as they should. It also extends the life of the knife! This disadvantage of sharpening is that you are gradually removing material from the edge. But this isn't always necessary: sometimes you only need to push back the burr. That's when the honing steel can come in handy.


When choosing a honing steel, make sure you use one with the right length. The rule of thumb is that your honing steel needs to be as long as the longest knife you want to hone. So don't forget about that extra-long chef's knife you wish to purchase in the future!

Nice weight in the hand and seems to be doing the job at keeping my knife at its best

I bought this to complement my Wusthof knives and knife block and it's the perfect tool to keep them sharp and honed. Quality is as good as you could want, and it feels very solidly made in the hand. 
Delivery and service from knivesandtools.co.uk was also flawless. Great product, great service.

Tous les fusils sont similaires niveau qualité de tige je crois (enfin il y a plus ou moins fin dans le grain et celui-ci est moins fin que le fusil de la gamme Ikon selon le site Wusthof en anglais) donc c'est surtout le manche qui change.

J'ai hésité entre ce manche et le manche Ikon, j'ai pris celui-ci car je me suis dit que payer plus pour le manche était absurde sachant que les manches de la gamme classic sont déjà largement assez qualitatifs.

A l'usage peut être que j'aurais du prendre Ikon ca le manche est un peu court. Mais  je crois que Ikon pas plus long...

Le manche Ikon restera donc un couteau sans manche auquel il ne manque que la lame...

Bref, le produit semble bien. 

J'ai pris en plus un manche céramique qui aiguise bien.

Celui-ci ne sert pas à aiguiser mais à redresser le fil afin de ne pas devoir aiguiser !

Rappelons que l'aiguisage retire de la matière car tige abrasive donc il faut un bon fusil en acier pour redresser le fil.

Attention aux doigts, j'ai tendance à les mettre sur la tige quand je fais glisser un couteau sur la tige...

Het was een cadeau en de ontvanger was er ook helemaal blij mee.
Wat feedback voor de website: het was me niet direct duidelijk welk soort aanzetstaal bij wat voor soort messen past. Er was zoveel keus, en misschien lag het aan mijn geringe kennis over dit product, maar ik moest wat info bij elkaar zoeken voordat ik wist wat ik nodig had.
Gelukkig heb ik het goede gevonden.

Goed en erg mooi aanzetstaal die in de serie past. Is van goede lengte voor al je messen! Ben er erg blij mee.
