The**Fiskars X21** is a splitting axe with a spindle-shaped forged axe head. The head pushes the wood apart and helps with the quick and effective splitting of medium and heavy tree trunks or firewood. This splitting axe is a full-size axe that is intended for extensive and intensive use.

 An axe traditionally has a wooden handle. Fiskars has decided that an old type of tool such as an axe can also be improved. The fibreglass-reinforced plastic FiberComp handle of a Fiskars axe is stronger than a wooden handle. Tests indicate that where a wooden handle breaks the FiberComp handle cuts without problems. The axe head is integrated into the handle and will therefore not come loose from the handle. The handle absorbs vibrations and increases hold and comfort during chopping. Fiskars is truly convinced of the quality of this concept that it has provided the axes with a lifelong guarantee.

 The axe head has a smooth coating that makes it easier to get the axe out of wood. This coating is very sustainable. The price of these axes is relatively low, the lifespan and quality can be compared with much more expensive competitors.

 This axe comes with an innovative nylon protective cover that can easily be attached, can handle moisture and be used to carry the axe with you or to hang it.

 **The 2015 update**  
 In 2015, Fiskars updated the series of axes. The grip parts of the handles have been enlarged and provided with more structure for better grip and comfort. This way you need less energy to hold the axe and concentrate better on control and use.

 Furthermore, Fiskars now makes a distinction between axes for heavy use and lighter work. The axes for light work have a completely black axe head and are especially suitable for kindling wood and small logs. The axes for the heavier work have been given a silver-coloured cutting surface on which damage is less visible. These axes are suitbale for heavy duties. The plastic sheath of the heavier axes has also been adjusted. To stand out more and not loosing it easily, it is made orange.

Amazingly effective tool for splitting logs. Delivered ahead of schedule. Very sharp on arrival. Handle has good grip and very comfortable.
