This **BeaverCraft BSH4 Carbon Steel Bushcraft Knife** is a robust bushcraft knife for a great price. The droppoint blade is perfect for bushcraft tasks such as wood carving.

The blade is made from 1066 carbon steel. A simple type of steel that is easy to sharpen. Carbon steel is not entirely stainless, but its cutting capabilities are excellent. Be careful around acids and moisture. BeaverCraft did enhance the knife with an oxide-coating to protect the carbon steel from external influences.

The handle is made from impregnated oak. A nice type of wood with a warm look and feel. It is striking that the handle is relatively thick, making it also perfect for people with large hands.

The BeaverCraft BSH4 comes with a leather sheath, with belt loop and dangler. The dangler enables you to carry the sheath even lower on your belt, making it stick out from under your coat. As such the sheath can also easily pivot in relation to your belt.

Sono rimasto molto soddisfatto! È ben bilanciato l’ho provato durante le mie escursioni nei boschi e devo dire che ha fatto il suo lavoro egregiamente. Lavoretti di intaglio, scortecciare, ridurre il legno in piccoli pezzi, preparare trucioli per accendere il fuoco e anche con l’utilizzo dell’acciarino ha prodotto facilmente molte scintille. Dopo svariati utilizzi ha mantenuto un ottima affilatura. Il fodero è bello e di buona qualità. 
In robusta pelle ,tiene ben saldo il coltello, ha la possibilità di essere portato alla cintura con 2 altezze diverse. L’impugnatura é comoda ma se si hanno mani grandi forse un pochino misurata.

Positif : finition générale soignée. Pas trop lourd. Lame de bonne facture : a été malmené dans les bois (bâtonnage, hachage, taille, lancer) et rien n'a bougé. J'aime aussi beaucoup le look lame noire + bois pâle, qui fait penser à ces vieux couteaux de cuisine qu'on trouvait dans le tiroir de grand-mère.
Négatif : je me joins à d'autres commentaires pour confirmer que le manche est à peine trop court pour de grandes mains : la partie brise-vitre devient vite gênante lors de chocs violents (hachage et bâtonnage), et le port de gans est alors le bienvenu. Quant au fourreau, il est certes très joli mais ne retient pas suffisamment le couteau : même quand il est "verrouillé", on peut extraire le couteau en tirant un peu plus fort.
Mais globalement, j'aime ce couteau : il est efficace et robuste.
