The **Martiini Kierinki** is an homage to Finnish knives and to the founder of the Marttiini factory. This knife is named after Janne Marttiini's village. With its belly and scandi edge, this knife is very suitable for woodwork. 

The knife features a scandi grind. The scandi grind, as the name suggests, originates from Scandinavia. The scandi grind has been the standard for ages when it comes to outdoor knives, hunting knives and bushcraft knives. In fact, a large v-shaped edge, without any further frills. A scandi grind is easy to manufacture and easy to sharpen at home. A scandi grind is great for wood work. Because the blade is relatively thick, it is very strong and can handle quite a lot.

## Birch wood handle

The handle is made of heat-treated birch wood interspersed with curly birch and a brass plate. The end of the handle flares out a bit, which gives the user a better grip when the knife is pulled out of the sheath or in use. The wood has a dark brown colour, and the light weight makes the knife comfortable to carry on your belt, for example.

## Carbon-steel blade

The blade is made from carbon steel with a black coating. Carbon steel is a popular choice for outdoor knives. The advantage of carbon steel is that it is often tougher than stainless steel, and it is very easy to sharpen yourself.

## Leather sheath
