The Buck Brahma 117 has the Bowie blade shape of the Buck Special 119, while the Buck Woodsman 102 is modelled on the cutting geometry of the Buck Folding Hunter 110. I was torn between the two knife versions, but in the end I chose the Brahma with a cocobolo handle. Luckily! It has the large handle of the Buck 119, but with a shorter blade of just under 12 cm, and it feels fantastic in the hand, just as you’d expect from Buck. The only thing that stands out is that it is surprisingly light, not to say too light, at 107 g. If I had the choice, I would buy the Buck Brahma in the version with brass bolsters, to feel the solid weight of this knife, as with my Buck Special at 300 g. However, the Heritage series seems to have introduced aluminium fittings in general. So that leaves one small downside, although it may even increase the knife’s usefulness, since its weight makes it easier to handle. Thanks to knivesandtools for the good price and fast delivery!
