I bought this as part of a 50th birthday gift package for my best mate, Andy. I had it engraved with a message to celebrate his half century for a more personal touch. I have owned Buck knives for years, particularly the 110 and the 112, and the Canoe, all of which are 3 of the hardest working and most reliable knives that I own (I have a fair few from many brands, from Case, ColdSteel, Benchmade and on to Spyderco and many more. We share the same profession and a small, strong and reliable pocket knife is an essential part of our EDC. The knife itself is very reasonably priced for what you get, and what you get is a fantastic pocket knife that will multi task with ease. I’ve used mine in a very wide range of scenarios, including cutting seatbelts in an RTC patient stabilisation/extrication situation, to cutting thick ropes on building site accidents down to using it to peel oranges and cut apples during long country walks and cut up steaks when I’ve camped, fished and cooked. All members of the Buck family are very solid, well made, finished beautifully and retain a very good edge with minimum effort despite not being of a premium steel blade wise, Buck’s heat treatment takes care of this. You will not be disappointed if you choose to go down the “old timer/grandpa” route, trust me. These knives, if looked after properly, will give you a lifetime of service and go on to became a family heirloom piece, to be passed between our Sons and Daughters,Nieces and Nephews. The Buck promise/guarantee is something that you don’t see very often these days, and Buck 100% stand on business and behind their promise. Put one in your basket and pull the trigger on it, you will be very pleased that you did when you have it in hand…Tactile and beautiful as well as practical. TLDR….. buy this, it’s brilliant…… thanks for looking. Nick.
