This **Skerper stropping compound** is perfect if you are looking to polish the edges of your knives. When combined with a [stropping paddle](/en/ct/stropping-paddles.htm) or [shaving belt](/en/ct/clamp-and-shaving-belts.htm) you will have a powerful tool in hands to turn a blunt knife into a razor-sharp one. The Skerper Stropping Compound comes in different grain sizes. From very coarse to very fine.

## How do you apply a stropping compound?


Before use you need to heat up the strop. You can do so by holding it over a gas flame, or heat it with a blow dryer or paint stripper. Do, however, be careful that you don’t burn the strop or yourself! You should also heat up the compound after which you can spread it out over the compound. Especially when you use the grey (coarse) compound, properly preheating is a must.

Pâte simple d'utilisation, efficace et ne nécessite aucune chauffe avant application.

Une douzaine d'aller retour rapide sur le cuir avec un appui modéré suffit à déposé une couche suffisante pour une dizaine de couteaux à faire passer dessus.

Bonne pâte mais vraiment dure à chauffer pour bien être étalée. Bonne description.  Un tutoriel sur YouTube serait le bienvenu.

Même en suivant les instructions, notamment en chauffant la pâte et le stop, la matière s’effrite. Je n'ai jamais pu obtenir un craie grasse, bien au contraire. je regrette mon achat et je suis contraint de chercher un autre produit. La pâte ultra fine se passe un peu mieux de couleur noir se passe un peu que la grise
