This original **8 Litres Petromax Dutch Oven ft9-T** is perfect for outdoor use, on the BBQ or for in the oven to cook and bake. Because of the wonderful qualities of cast-iron the heat is evenly distributed and retained. Outside you can use the pan over an open flame with charcoal or briquettes. The raised edge on the lid makes it possible to add charcoal or briquettes on top of the Dutch Oven. As a result the pan is heated from all sides and will function as an oven. You can also hang the pan over an open flame or use it in the oven. 


The Petromax Dutch Oven has been enhanced with ingenious details for an amazing cooking experience. The small cut-out that has enough room for a thermometer is ideal. This enables you to check the temperature inside the pan without removing the lid. Because of the solid handle you can safely lift the pan. Another remarkable detail is that, upside-down, the lid can serve as a baking tin. To prepare steak, pancakes or a fried egg. Soups, meat courses, stews but also cakes and loafs of bread can easily be prepared in the Dutch Oven. 


Cast-iron pans have been around since the 18th century. Even back then the unique features of cast-iron were appreciated. With the Dutch Oven Petromax is taking over this tradition and offers a multitude of refined details.

What a beast. I’ve basically built a kitchen around this pan. Whole chicken, big stews, bacon and eggs on the lid. Ooh. Pizza. I’m only just starting to learn it but feel as if it will be around for a very long time.
And although I don’t go in for looks…It look’s pretty stunning too

Solid but therefore heavy equipment. Nice looking too. I couldn't say if it performs better then the cheaper alternatives but I am very pleased with the results I get with my Petromax.

De levering was prima, de webshop is prima. Alleen de fabrikant heeft een heeeeeeeel ander idee van een pan inbranden om hem anti aanbak te maken dan gebruikelijk. Het gaat om een giet ijzeren pan met deksel van 8 a 9 liter inhoud. In de gebruiksaanwijzing staat dat je de pan direkt kan gebruiken want hij is vooraf ingebrand. Maar na 1x koken roest op de deksel. Dus ziek geweest van roest in je eten.

Even voor de duidelijkheid, Knife and Tools kan hier NIETS aan doen. Hun treft geen schuld zoals ik het zie. 

Dit is fabrikant petromax die duidelijk moet stellen dat de pan beter opnieuw ingebrand kan worden als je hem aanschaft.

Dus brand de pan zelf nog een paar keer in, dan wordt de pan echt anti aanbak en resistent tegen roest vorming.

Voor de rest een steen/ijzer goede pan, die je goed op open vuur kan gebruiken. 

Nogmaals, geen problemen ooit gehad met de website en shop van Knife and Tools.
