The **Nitecore EDC29** is a compact rechargeable flashlight for everyday use. This light has a maximum light output of no less than 6500 lumens and a beam reach of 400 metres. Impressive for a flashlight the size of half a smartphone! 

## Nitecore EDC29 Advanced Sandwich Construction

The EDC29 features what Nitecore calls an 'Advanced Sandwich Construction'. The sandwich housing is made of two stainless steel plates. With a composite frame and a heat-conducting plate in between. The black steel casing is anodised to military standard HA III. Grip plates are fitted to the sides of the light for an excellent grip. The whole sandwich is secured with four sturdy screws on the sides. 

The EDC29 also features a 'Hybrid Heat Dissipation System'. You'll find this behind the pocket clip and it is made of copper with an aluminium plate on top. This system, combined with the internal Advanced Temperature Regulation (ATR) module, ensures great heat diffusion. Since it's located behind the clip, you won't feel any unwanted heat while using it.

## Nitecore EDC29 controls

The flashlight also has an OLED display. The display shows light mode, lumen count, burn time, battery and lockout mode. You can switch through light modes with the switch on the back. This switch cycles between the 7 light levels (ultra low, low, medium, high, spotlight and floodlight) and the strobe function. Because of the heat that is generated, the burn time in the turbo mode is limited to approx. 5-7 seconds. 

The EDC29 features two lockout modes:

  * 1. Half Lockout Mode (On/off button is locked, light mode button is usable)
  * 2. Full Lockout Mode (both on/off button and light mode button are locked)

The EDC29's 2500mAh Li-ion battery is rechargeable with the included USB-C cable. The charging port is fitted with a protective cap. This prevents dust and moisture from entering the charging port.

  * Low (100 lumens, 68 metres, 13 hours)
  * Mid (400 lumens, 100 metres, 3 hours)
  * High (1200 lumens, 190 metres, 2 hours)
  * Spotlight (3000 lumens, 400 metres, approx. 30 seconds)
  * Floodlight (6500 lumens, 370 metres, approx. 7 seconds)
  * Strobe (6500 lumens)

## Nitecore EDC29 pocket clip

Last but not least, the EDC29 features an innovative pocket clip with an attachment piece. This attachment piece features ridges, making it easy to grip and take the flashlight from your pocket. Below this attachment is a cord eye for attaching a lanyard (also included).

De lamp een tijdje in gebruik, en hij voldoet prima. De lamp is erg compact en daardoor makkelijk mee te nemen. De lichtopbrengst is indrukwekkend voor het formaat en door de lock-out knop aan de zijkant kan de lamp nooit onbedoeld geactiveerd worden in je broekzak of rugzak. De levertijd was zoals gebruikelijk weer erg kort bij Knives & Tools

Direct in de ogen geprobeert=zeker niet doen!veel erger dan eens op de zon te kijken= lumin shild werkt perfekt!
Perfekt als een zaklamp. Jammer dat er geen goesje daar voor.

A flashlight that can throw out a lot of light. Since I'm paying for it myself, I haven't done any moisture tests, but I've read that it can't handle moisture at all, so it can't be used if it's raining or if the humidity is too high where you're using it. That's of course super annoying. It has the light intensities that I find useful when I go out in nature, especially the 15 lumens are good for orienting yourself if the moon isn't out. The 3000 lumens work well and illuminate a large area, but the 6500 lumens aren't that impressive as they only fill light in width, not in length. The fact that you can turn off the operation is super good, now I don't have to worry about it turning on accidentally. The display with information is also good, because now I know if I need to charge it before I go or if I can expect enough battery for the whole trip. Nice flashlight except for the moisture issue
