First Japanese knife I have added to my collection and a pretty good place to start. Not as good quality as what I was expecting. However it is perfectly balanced and feels very good in the hand. It came with a good edge but a quick go on a ceramic steel and an even sharper edge is easily achieved. I find it to be very light maybe a little too light compared to what I usually use and it is certainly not going to be used for every job within a busy kitchen but for fine detailed precise cutting it’s thin blade is excellent. If treated well I’m sure it will last for a very long time, it dose change colour but I feel it adds to the overall look of the knife. So to recap, if your looking for an all rounder to use as your daily knife I would advise trying something else but as another addition for fine precise work I would recommend

Great steel. Keep it dry and it won't rust. It slices better than any stainless knife I have, even those with the same hardness.
