The **Case Medium Stockman** is a true classic in the pocket knife world. This pattern is almost as old as the entire category of Traditionals. This Case Stockman is a very pure incarnation of this classic model. It has been enhanced with three blades: a clippoint blade as *main blade*, a 5.4 cm sheepfoot blade and a *pen-blade*.


The three blades are, when opened, kept in place by a slipjoint lock. Because Case has, in this case, used two lock-springs to keep three blades in place it is inevitable that the blades are very close together and even touch each other when closed. This is part of the design and also gives it its authentic charm.


## Case CV Carbon steel


The blade is made from Case Chrome Vanadium steel, also called CV steel. A type of steel that is praised for the fact that it can easily be sharpened. With only a minimal amount of effort you can end up with a razor-sharp knife. You do, however, have to look out for rust. Long-term exposure to moisture, salt or acids will discolour the blade or even cause rust. Enthusiasts will appreciate that a *patina* will form on the blade over time. This means that the steel will become matte, and grey. As such the knife will get a character of its own and become unique.


## Amber Jigged Bone handle


The handle is made from *Amber Jigged Bone* which is, in fact, cow bone enhanced with an interesting texture. Subsequently it has been given a beautiful colour and a nice polish. This classic material radiates class and elegance. As a result it completely matches the rest of the Case knives. In this case a *Peach Seed* texture was chosen.

Case has been making pocket knives since 1889. Each knife is assembled and finished by hand which is unique for an American brand. As such each Case knife is unique. Meets the standard you expect from a Case knife. This is my second one since I lost my previous. 
Perfect size for EDC in my daily life. 
If I loose or break this one I will buy yet another.

Fit and finish is not the Case quality I’m used to. Feels cheaper than my older case knives. 

Grosse déception, c'est la première fois que je renvoie un Case! Le contrôle qualité était immonde: les lames se touchaient et étaient rayées! Je suis sans doute tombé sur un mauvais numéro, j'ai une vingtaine de Case et jamais eu aucun problème... Mais à ce prix on s'attend à mieux!
