The **Case Sod Buster Jr.** is a traditional pocket knife according to the Sod Buster pattern. A simple pocket knife, designed for the average farmer as a workers knife. You open it with two hands and a slipjoint firmly keeps the blade in place when opened. It doesn’t get any simpler than that.


## Case Tru-Sharp SS-steel


The blade is made from Case Tru-Sharp SS. A stainless type of steel that is basically the same as 420HC steel. Characterizing about this type of steel is that you can quickly sharpen it and end up with a razor-sharp knife.


## Jet Black Synthetic handle


The handle on this pocket knife is made from black synthetic material. The synthetic material feels great in hand and even feels comfortable in very low temperatures.

I'm really pleased with this knife. It's now become one of my favourite traditional slipjoint patterns. The knife is well made and very sharp and shows no gaps or other imperfections. A very good knife for the price. I'll probably buy other versions of this knife too. Highly recommended.

Leider habe ich wohl ein absolutes Montagsmodell erwischt.

Folgende Dinge fielen mir leider auf:
Klingenschliff unsymmetrisch, dafür ist die Klinge aber stumpf ;)
Griffschalen hinten schräg und unsymmetrisch verschliffen.
Die Griffschalen stehen an ein paar Stellen über die Liner über.
Die Liner stehen dafür an anderen Stellen über ;)
Die Rückenfeder ist am Klingenübergang schräg und nicht bündig verschliffen.
Einige Spalten zwischen Rückenfeder, Linern und Griffschalen.

Da ich das Messer auch zur Sammlungsvervollständigung (der "Sod Buster" ist nun mal von Case erfunden worden) erstanden habe, werde ich mich nochmals umschauen müssen und bei diesem den Schliff überarbeiten und es für genau das verwenden, für das es gedacht ist: Als Arbeitstier!

Für den Preis hätte ich leider aber auch locker 2 Rough Rider bekommen können (da rechnet man, und akzeptiert man Unsauberkeiten), daher war es leider ein teures Arbeitstier.

Ein in selber Bestellung erstandenes Case Congress ist hingegen makellos.

Because this is a non-locking, folding knife with a blade of 3 inches or less, it is a legal carry pocket knife in the UK. That was one criteria. I also wanted a knife that came with a good pedigree, from a firm with a great history and a good reputation. I also wanted a knife with a solid build, and enough blade strength to cope with something more than chopping onions in a campsite. The Sodbuster Jr. delivers on all fronts. It's tremendously well-engineered, very sharp, feels good in the hand, and I expect it to last a lifetime.
