This is almost exactly what I wanted, It's a cool microscope but I'm not sure it's good enough to help with sharpening, the two core issues are resolution and magnification. I was hoping to be able to really see variations between a bess 50 and a bess 100 but my feeling is that everything under 300 basically looks exactly the same. I would love to see one of these microscopes with a HD of 4K feed and then maybe 1000 magnification. The foot is also a bit flimsy. The quest continues for the right tool.
