The **TOPS Silent Hero** is a large survival knife, designed by Anton Du Plessis. He works for the Specialized Interdiction Unit of the Silent Heroes Foundation in South-East Africa. This foundation is committed to the preservation of wild animals. A good knife is indispensable in the field.

 The Silent Hero has a large 16.5 cm blade. You can immediately see the traces of the heat treatment on the blade. TOPS calls this the *Black River Wash*. As such you can clearly see the differential hardening of the blade. The edge is hard, the rest of the knife is relatively soft. As such the Silent Hero can handle quite a lot before it breaks.

 The handle is made from micarta. A strong composite material made from canvas and synthetic resin. This specific version has a smooth handle. The Silent Hero is also available with scales that are enhanced with the Rocky Mountain Thread (RMT).

 The TOPS Silent Hero comes with a solid leather sheath with belt loop.
