The **LifeStraw Peak Solo water filter** is a must-have for long treks when water is readily available. The LifeStraw Peak Solo is BPA-free and designed so that you can easily screw it onto bottles. In fact, at the bottom is a universal thread for standard bottles. So you can simply refill your bottle from streams and lakes without having to lug litres of water up the mountain. The filter itself is also super lightweight, only 48 grams!

## What does the LifeStraw Peak Solo filter:

The LifeStraw Peak Solo features a single membrane microfilter and, unlike the LifeStraw Go series, does not come with an additional carbon filter. The membrane microfilter removes bacteria (including E.coli + Salmonella), parasites (including Giardia and Cryptosporidium), microplastics, sand, dirt and murkiness.

### Additional information about the filter:

  * Bacteria: 99.999999% (LOG 6 reduction). This LifeStraw filters, amongst others, E. coli bacteria from water. Meets US EPA and NSF P231 drinking water standards for bacteria removal.
  * Microplastics: 99.9999%
  * Protozoa: 99.999% (LOG 3 reduction). Protozoa is a collective term for single-celled parasites. Frequently occurring protozoa which LifeStraw successfully filters from the water are Giardia and Cryptosporidium. Meets US EPA and NSF P231 drinking water standards for parasite removal.
  * Viruses: unfortunately this filter does not remove viruses from the water.

## LifeStraw Peak Solo filter lifespan

The microfilter lasts up to 2,000 litres of water. That's enough drinking water for one person for more than 2.5 years!

## Cleaning the water filter

If the filter is saturated with dirt, it will become harder to drink from it. Blow air into the filter via the mouthpiece to blow the dirt out of the filter. If you are no longer able to remove the dirt you need to replace the filter.
