This **blue Le Creuset Tradition sauce pan** has a diameter of 26 cm. It is completely made from cast iron. This type of sauce pan is also called a skillet. The pan is enhanced with a high, curved edge. As such you can easily stir inside the pan without food getting out. The two pouring spouts on the rim also make it super easy to pour liquids out of the pan.

As well as the cast iron handle, the skillet is also equipped with a second handle. Considering the weight of the pan, this isn't an unnecessary luxury! The entire dish is prepared evenly, thanks to the enamelled cast iron. The pan is suitable for all heat sources and can go straight from the stove into the oven.

The Le Creuset skillet has satin-finished black enamel. Thanks to this interior, the pan is an excellent option for baking, grilling and searing. With regular use a black-brown layer, also known as a patina, will develop. Do not remove this layer: this is the result of natural oils and fats adhering to the surface. This layer gives better baking results and ensures that the pan doesn't need to be greased as much.

## Maintaining the pan

Clean the pan before use and dry it properly. Always choose a heat source that is the appropriate size for the base diameter of the pan. When using a gas hob, make sure that the flames cannot spread up the sides of the pan. The flames should only hit the base. Also, do not immediately place the hot dish under a cold tap, as this could damage it. Make sure it has enough time to cool down first. This pan is dishwasher-safe. However, please note that frequent dishwasher use could affect the enamel finish. It can also prevent a patina from forming.
