The **Laguiole en Aubrac Bogwood, Matt Bolster** is a modern version of the classic Laguiole knife. The knife has a handle made of bog oak and the stainless steel bolsters are matted. This pocket knife is handcrafted to guarantee a refined finish.

## Laguiole en Aubrac Bogwood

The handle is made of bogwood, oak. This is a dark wood species that is on average more than five thousand years old. Because the bog oak lies in the mud, without coming into contact with oxygen, it can be preserved for thousands of years without it starting to rot. The back of the handle features a hand-filed decoration in the steel.



You open the Laguiole en Aubrac with two hands. To make this easier, there's a nail nick which gives you a little extra grip using your fingernail. This pocket knife is not equipped with a full lock, only with a slipjoint mechanism. This provides some resistance to prevent the knife from snapping shut during normal use. However, if you press on the spine of the blade, the knife will shut.



The blade of this knife is enhanced with a 'satin finish'. This is a chic and tasteful finish that is very popular.
