Features of Yaxell Ran
Blade of damascus steel
The blade is made from 69 layers of damascus steel and a core of Japanese VG10 steel hardened up to 61HRC. VG10 has a very fine structure at the microscopic level. As a result, the knife is easy to sharpen at home. The damascus steel creates a beautiful contrast of light and dark lines that run along the entire length of the blade. Because the blade is heavily polished, it slices through food very smoothly.
Yaxell Ran handle
The handles are made from micarta. Micarta is a material comprised of linen impregnated with an epoxy resin. This makes it a very strong material. It can handle its own and withstand water. The oval shape of the handle offers enough grip, making it very comfortable to use. The rivets give the blade a Western touch, while still having a distinctly Asian shape.
