Due Cigni kitchen knives and scissors: eternal tradition
Due Cigni is a traditional Italian knife manufacturer that has been producing top-quality kitchen knives, shears, scissors and saws for over 100 years. 'Due cigni' is Italian for 'two swans'. A very appropriate name for a brand whose products exude the same graceful elegance as these beautiful birds. All products are produced in the Italian knife capital of Maniago. Some years ago, the brand was bought by FOX Cutlery. They continued the Due Cigni tradition of producing fine, top-quality kitchen knives. So, are you looking for elegant and traditional knives? Look no further; Due Cigni is perfect for you.
Why choose Due Cigni kitchen knives?
When you choose Due Cigni, you choose quality, craftmanship and excellent cutting capabilities. These knives are perfect for foodies, and made in the knife capital of Italy: Maniago. The artisanal production process combined with the meticulously-sharpened blade ensures that cutting vegetables, meat and bread will be a piece of cake. The ergonomics also contribute to this, allowing you to effortlessly enjoy hours of Italian design and craftsmanship.
Due Cigni collections
Due Cigni 1896 Walnut
The kitchen knives from the Due Cigni 1896 Walnut collection were designed by Oreste Frati, the owner of Fox Knives. For the design of these knives he looked at the design of classic European kitchen knives. The handles are made from walnut wood, giving the knives a classic and stylish look. The blades are made from X50Cr15MoV stainless steel. This type of steel is easy to sharpen, if, after some time, it has lost some of its sharpness.
Due Cigni Arne Line
The Arne Line knives were designed by a familiar face in the knife world: Danish knife maker Jens Ansø. According to Due Cigni, these knives are dishwasher safe. Nevertheless, we do not recommend washing the knives in the dishwasher, as this can still damage the handle and blade over time. And that would be a shame! The Arne Line is comprised of two handle materials: Ziricote wood and HPL, which stands for High Pressure Laminate. Each knife is made from one piece of 12C27 stainless steel, and the knives have a full-tang construction. As a result, these knives are rock-solid.
Due Cigni Coquus
The Due Cigni Coquus kitchen knives are made of X50Cr15MOV stainless steel, just like the 1896 Walnut series and the Tuscany series. This type of steel is easy to sharpen, should the knife lose some of its sharpness over time. The handle is made of an African type of wood known for its dark colour: grenadilla wood. This type of wood is often used for musical instruments and decorative pieces. A great choice for stylish kitchen knives!
Due Cigni Hakucho
The knives in the Due Cigni Hakucho series were inspired by Japanese-style knives. They have a classic olive wood handle and a blade made from stainless 4119 nitro-B steel, a type of steel that is easy to sharpen.
Due Cigni Tuscany
The handles of Tuscany knives are made from olive wood; a light type of wood, both in weight and colour. The distinctive grain in the wood is unique, so the knives may vary slightly from the product photo: this is normal with natural products. It only adds to the uniqueness of these high-quality knives! In addition, olive wood is naturally antibacterial, which is of course a nice feature for a kitchen knife. The Due Cigni Tuscany kitchen knives are made of X50Cr15MOV stainless steel, just like the 1896 Walnut series and the Coquus series.
Due Cigni scissors
In addition to kitchen knives, Due Cigni also produces high-quality scissors. There are many types of scissors in Due Cigni's range, such as kitchen scissors, household scissors, poultry or game scissors and special tailoring scissors. Kitchen scissors are the everyday scissors that everyone has in their home and that you use for all sorts of tasks. Cutting paper, spices, packages, you name it. But do you need to cut through bones as well? In that case, poultry or game scissors will come in handy. And don't forget fabric scissors or tailor's scissors; these sharp and asymmetrical scissors were designed to slice through fabrics without any fraying. Due Cigni is confident in the quality of their products; therefore, you get a lifetime warranty on material and manufacturing defects.
