Features of the Sakai Takayuki 45 Layer Damascus series
Damascus steel blade with hammered finish
The kitchen knives in this series feature a blade with a core made from Swedish steel. The layers of damascus steel were folded around this core. The blades have a hammered finish, called 'tsuchime'. This design feature also has a practical function: the hammered blade means that the ingredients won't stick to the blade.
Available in two types of wood
The Sakai Takayuki 45 Layer Damascus series consists of 2 different 'lines': one with a magnolia wood handle and one with a walnut wood handle. The handles are both shaped according to classic Japanese design.
Razor-sharp and light as a feather
As befitting Japanese tradition, each knife is sharpened by hand and razor-sharp upon delivery. Thanks to the relatively high hardness of 60 HRC, the edge stays sharp for a long time. And because of the narrow blade and the walnut wood handle each knife also weighs next to nothing. Easy to use for the best possible results!
