Eden Susumi SG2: our idea of perfection
The kitchen knives of the Susumi SG2 series are hand-forged in Japan. Susumi means progress, this name was chosen because the design and choice of materials are very innovative. The blade is made from SG2 powder steel with a damascus finish. This is a type of steel with a very fine structure and a hardness of 62-63 HRC. Thanks to this hardness, these knives can be enhanced with a very thin grind. The handles are also made of a high-quality material: 'red sandalwood'. This is a type of rosewood with a beautiful deep red colour.
Eden Susumi SG2 features
Type of steel and handle
The knives are corrosion resistant and the damascus steel has the same hardness as the SG2 core. The knives are more scratch-resistant than most knives made from damascus. The Japanese-style handles are made from 'red sandalwood', a type of wood with a deep red colour. The amazing properties of the SG2 steel combined with the stunning design makes this perhaps the best kitchen knife series in our range. Our idea of perfection.
Sharpening Eden Susumi kitchen knives
It's best to sharpen these knives by hand. Sharpening stones, sharpening steels and sharpening systems are all good options. We recommend avoiding pull-through sharpeners with this type of blade, as the hard steel and sideways movements in a pull-through sharpener can cause pieces of steel to break off. That would be a shame!
25-year warranty
We offer a 25-year warranty on material and manufacturing defects. Please note that these knives are not dishwasher safe.
